I was putting stuff away before going to sleep last night and realized that I keep things that I love and that make me happy either on my nightstand right next to my bed, or as close to my bed as possible.  Do you guys do the same?

On my nightstand:

Lamp with flowers and birds: It was here when I moved in, but fits my style perfectly!  I adore all the colors and decorations on it, and might might might ask if I can keep it when I move out… Not that that’s happening any time soon or anything.

Met tags: I’ve collected the tags they give you at the Metropolitan ever since I was little (they periodically get thrown out during huge cleaning sprees, but still) and the colors are so fun.  Besides, I’m an art historian, the two go hand in hand.

Dug plushie from Disney’s UP:  My favorite cousin gave it to me for Christmas while I was staying at her family’s house over winter break.  We both share a really intense love for animation, and she’s going to uni for fine arts right now.  I’m so proud of her, it’s hard to put into words.  I love that she’s completely and totally herself and if someone’s not cool with that or thinks she’s lame, then that’s too bad for them, but she’ll still try to be friends with them… sort of like Dug, hahaha.

TARDIS journal (under Dug): Agos made this for me for my birthday, and I adore it so god damn much.  I can’t even bring myself to draw or write in it.  It just sits on my nightstand being amazing, which really isn’t fair since it should be used.  Maybe I’ll get the courage some day…

My glasses: I need them to see and they’re really cute.  I love glasses in general?

I <3 Tintin mug: I grew up reading Tintin since my Mum would bring me back gifts from all her business trips and a Tintin book was usually part of the presents.  He’s another member of the “really smart badasses who spend their lives adventuring” club whom I adore and grew up admiring.  The Doctor and Indiana Jones are also part of this club.  Plus, hot cocoa’s pretty yummy.

DS: pokemonpokemonpokemonpokemon and STICKERS

Cellphone and charms: It keeps me relatively on time (relatively) and keeps me connected to most of the loves of my life, so I will begrudgingly say it’s really important to me.  I don’t really like telephones and never have.

Huge bottle of lotion: Gotta keep moisturized and what not, you know?

Near my nightstand:

Bee’s christmas gift: It’s on the floor in the pink Sanrio bag, but is not anything Sanrio.  Dun dun dunnnnn.  She’ll get it soon enough WHEN I SEE HER FOR SPRING BREAK!

Wizard Marionette: Another gift Mum brought back from her travels when I was a little girl.  He’s from Montmartre, France, and he’s just ever so wonderful.  He has a red scar on his hand from this one time I tried bringing him to school and he got scuffed by my locker.  I was really upset at the time for hurting him, but it looks kind of cool now, like he got it in a wizard fight or something.

Letters from friends, and Inechi’s Mitochondria zine and stickers: If you’ve been following me long enough, you know how much I adore letters from friends and how much they mean to me.  I always keep a couple close by, before putting them in my letter box.  Also, Inechi is an AWESOME zine artist.  You guys should all check her out and buy some of her stuff.  I used to keep her Sopa Aguada zine by my bed until I gotMitochondria. (I need to buy more of her stuff, she never ever disappoints.)
